
GLOBAL ECO FORUM´09
Transition towards Sustainability
Barcelona, September 23th.- After the great success of the first edition in 2008, the second International Forum Global Eco Forum (GEF) will take place next days 26th and 27th October in Barcelona under the motto "The Transition towards sustainability". International recognized experts and professionals will present their visions for a more sustainable and responsible world. GEF´09 is an actual and virtual event for the civil society, enterprises, NGO and citizens.
Among the key speakers, it is worth mentioning Timo Mäkelä, director of Sustainable Development of DG Environment at European Commission; Juan López de Uralde, director of Greenpeace Spain; Cristina Narbona, Spanish ambassador at OECD; Teresa Ribera, Spanish Secretary of State for Climate Change; Dimitri Zenghelis, Stern Review member at the United Kingdom Government and Cisco economic advisor; Dominique Voynet, ex-French minister of Environment and leader of the Green Party (Les Verts); Jorge Wagensberg, director of science museum CosmoCaixa; Geneviève Ferone, Vice-President Sustainable Development at Veolia; Margarita Astrálaga, director of IUCN-Med, Senén Florensa, director of IEMed and Gonzalo Echagüe, president of CONAMA, and others.
The topics to deal with on the GEF´09 will be: Environmental sustainability, Corporate Social Responsibility, Energy and Climate change, Green business - Green Economy; Social entrepreneurship; Industrial & Urban Ecology; Sustainable territories; Management of the transition and Eco-innovation.
